Playing Catch Up

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy, we've had beautiful weather and have been on the go. Here's a few things we've been up to...

Sami dancing with cousin Lexi

Our favorite game right now is dressups!

Last week we took a trip to the local firestation with a bunch of kids from our neighborhood. It was a blast, thanks for setting it up Heather!

First we came into the classroom and learned about fire safety and about what the firemen do.

Hunter was mesmerized by everything they had to say...

Sami....not so much.. she just wanted to run around and dance in the open space of the garage...

"This is the key to your house" says the fireman... a little creepy, but okay...

Hunter giving the fireman a high five...

is it me or is the guy in the background ripping one?! nice...Sami wasn't going to come anywhere near him!

They turned the engine sirens for us... boy were they loud!

... Sami thought it was loud too...

Driving the firetruck

Hunter has Sami in a hold...er hug.
The whole gang with the firemen

Last Friday we got invited for the first weenie roast of the year at our friends the Hansens parents house. It was fun as usual! Hooray for springtime!!!

"I'm a good marshmallow cooker"

Smoke follows beauty right?!

it's hard to tell since the picture is so dark, but this is a candid picture I caught of Sami swinging with Daddy...

....and jumping on the trampoline with daddy. It's fun to have some daddy daughter time! Sami was getting restless while we sat around the campfire so she and daddy snuck off to play!

Hunter disappeared for a minute so I went looking for him and found him like this...

He had put the helmet on and climbed up on the 4 wheeler himself. He literally sat there for 30 minutes pretending to ride it... sound effects and all!

We couldn't get him to take the helmet off...

Sami had her first "Mom 'n Me" dance class today over at the local rec center. She had a blast until it was time for the "Monster Boogy"... all those little monsters running around growling scared the poop out of her... it was all down hill from there!

That's all folks...

Attention all my digital scrap booking buddies...

When our baby, Savannah, was born an incredible organization called "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" came and took pictures of her for us. I know this seems a little odd, and even seemed incredibly morbid to me at the time, however, since them I have been so grateful to have SOMETHING to remind me of my sweet little girl... even if they are not something that we show many people.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is a non profit organization and hundreds of talented, professional photographers donate their time and talents... and sleep when the call comes at 2 am like it did with my baby... to give this priceless gift to families facing a very difficult loss.

The girls at Scrap Matters have designed this adorable digital scrapbook kit in honor of my friend Amy's baby (who was stillborn in January of this year). The kit is $10 and all the proceeds will be donated to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Click here for more details and to order this cute kit!!!

Rad

Teacher: Okay kids, we're going to let our balloons go! Where do you think they'll go when we let go of them?

Kid #1: Up in the sky!

Kid #2: Into the clouds!

Hunter: Mine's going to Chuck E. Cheese.

Isn't Hunters world rad?

This is how we are usuallly greeted in the morning when we go in to get Miss Sami. We can here her bouncing from our bedroom!

...hopefully her brains aren't scrambled eggs after this!

Oh how I love this spunky little girl!

Sweet nothings...

This is Hunter and Audrey...
Audrey sits next to Hunter at school.

Yesterday I was at Hunters school helping out with their Dr. Seuss party.

I looked over just in time to see him lean over and whisper something into Audreys ear. A huge grin immediately spreads over her face and she yells out, "Hunter said I'm beautiful!"

He's just sitting there leaning back on his chair with a sly grin on his face.

Then Audrey leans over and whispers something into Hunters ear. He grins, but doesn't say anything.

On the way home he non-chalantly tells me, "Audrey told me I'm handsome"

It's a good thing he still thinks it's gross when people kiss because apparently girls don't have cooties anymore...

Spring Fever!!!

We FINALLY got some nice 60 degree weather (on Tuesday... it snowed again Wednesday night.... darn that stupid ground hog!) So we got out and took full advantage of such a beautiful day!

Hunter wants to be a motocross racer when he grows up...

Sami had fun....

...but she kept going off the "road" and getting stuck in the grass. She was getting pretty frustrated, so she decided to turn in and stick to posing for cute pictures...
chhhhhheeese... Hallelujah for grass by the way. It's been a loooong time since we've seen ours! We had a good foot or more of snow when we left for cabo and it was just about all melted when we came home... I don't know about anyone else... but this household has spring fever BIG TIME!

Los Cabos!

Brett and I just got back from 4 glorious days in Paradise... Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. What's better than 4 days in paradise? 4 days in paradise courtesy of Logican Inc. (Bretts company). The sales team hit their goals last year so this was our winners circle trip. I must say, usually by the end of vacation I'm ready to get home to my babies... but this time... I could have stayed a few days longer! I didn't bring a camera with me, so these pictures are courtesy of Des' blog! Thanks for taking pics for me Des! Next year I will bring my own for sure! The girls: Lindsay, Sarah, Des and Mandi

We got there Thursday afternoon and headed straight for the pool. The pool in our section of the hotel was amazing. I'll have to see if Des shot a picture of it. It had one of those swimming pools that look like they don't have an edge on them (not sure what they are called) and it looked out onto the beach and ocean. It was BREATHTAKING! The resort was all inclusive so all but one of our meals were buffet style... which if anyone knows how much Brett and I love recreational eating, you will understand that this was heaven for us... especially the all you could eat soft serve icecream machine. There must be one of those in heaven....
Friday Brett went golfing and I had a glorious day of laying out by the pool. Life is rough when you are sitting next to the pool, with a good book in one hand and a virgin margarita (lemonaide the bartender told me with a laugh) whilst the golden cancer inducing rays of the sun char your spray on tanned skin. It was so great! That night we enjoyed some yummy sushi and more buffet food Asian style with everyone. Then we stayed up til the wee hours of the night playing cards with Chad and Des.

Saturday Brett and I went golfing on the most beautiful golf course. It is actually rated #4 in the world. I didn't take any pictures but this is one I took when we were there 2 years ago...

We came back and were treated to a couples massage at the spa, followed by a soak in the hot tub and dinner at the steak house. But the beeeest part of the trip was....

karaoke!

... Brett and Chad that is... who can turn down a triple dog dare :) The audience was lovin' the two matching boys from Salt Lake. They actually sounded really good!

After karaoke was another late night of cards with Chad and Des. Other people around the resort thought it was hilarious that we were actually playing cards, since everyone else was drinkin' up a storm.

It was such a fun trip and I can't wait until next year!
