Bye Bye Binkie...

The time has come to say bye bye to our dear friend the binkie. Sami has only been allowed to have it at bed time (and a couple of times in sacrament meeting when she needed a cork!) but she is always asking for it.

We had a little "bye bye binkie party". The original plan was to have one balloon for each binkie, but the binkies were too heavy so we had to tie both balloons to one binkie. Then took it ouside and bid the binkie farewell. So if you find a binkie hanging out in your tree, that would be why! All day Sami kept telling people "Balloon and binkie went bye bye", but didnt' seem too upset. At bed time she asked for the binkie and I reminde her that the binkie went bye bye up in the sky with the balloon. She said, "Oh" repeated binkie went bye bye a couple of times, just kind of thought about it and I guess that made sense because she to sleep! Alls well so far. We'll see how bed time goes tonight!

Why can't potty training be this easy? Tie a diaper to a balloon say bye bye and the kid uses the potty from then on.... neighbors might not be as forgiving about finding a diaper in their tree as a binkie I guess... Still... you've been warned :)
