Cookies + Cousins= A Mess... I mean PARTY!

Yesterday we had our annual "Decorate Halloween Cookies with Grams Day!" as always it was a ton of fun!
Here's our little munchkins enjoying the spoils of our day...

Hunter

Sami

not so much a fan of the cookies, she was licking the icing off them!

Jackson

Halle
Lexi
Modeling her cute new boots for us!
Grams
...and Sami
As previously mentioned Sami didn't care much for the cookies she just sucked the icing of [and I mean literally slurped the icing off...] She kept telling Grams she wanted more, so Grams would just frost the same cookie for her.
Sami was okay with that!

And the finished product
ALMOST too cute to eat.
Almost.

Preschool Halloween Party!

Today was Hunters Halloween party at preschool. He was so excited to get to wear his spiderman costume to school so that Miss Tonya could see it!
The Whole Class
This next one is funny... Hunter was staring down at the ground and wouldn't look up at the camera... so one of the boys put his hand on top of Hunters head and "helped" him lift it! When it was happening it happened so fast I thought it was Miss Tonya (who is blocked by little misters head in this pic) who had helped him look up. It was pretty funny to look at this picture and realize it was another kid!

Kids are so funny!

One more day to go!
But we're going to be sad to see all the Halloween celebrations come to an end. Thank goodness we have Thanksgiving and Christmas coming!

Halloween Party Night 2!

Tonight for Family Night we decided to continue the Halloween celebrations and carve some pumpkins! We let the kids do as much as they could. Brett cut the lids off and the kids scraped the guts out... actually more accurately... Hunter scraped his pumpkin guts Sami stuck her hand in one time and pulled back so fast you would have thought she touched a hot stove and screamed out, "Gross!" She wouldn't touch the pumpkin again after that! Brett and I carved them ad then the kids painted them with finger paints. Sami had a ball with that. Apparently paint isn't gross like pumpkin guts!

And the finished product...

...and my daughter going cross eyed...

...I hope it doesn't stick...

I Love My Daddy!

Mommy: Hunter, what do you love about your daddy?

Hunter: Because I DO love him!

Mommy: But WHY do you love him?

Hunter: (exasperated) I just TOLD you!

Daddy is Hunters very best friend. They are golfin' buddies, he will play "dinosaur hide and seek" with him, and they love to snuggle on the couch eating popcorn watching whatever game is on.

Loves you Daddy, thiiiiis much!

Funny Hunter

Mommy: (talking to myself and picking up my phone to check) Hmmmm I wonder what time it is

Hunter: (with a "matter of fact tone in his voice): Thirty O'clock

Thanks Bud!

Ward Trunk or Treat!

Last night our ward had our annual trunk or treat, we had such as blast!
How did we spend our night?....
Exploring
Of course as soon as we got there, our little bunny rabbit went straight for the stairs and was practicing walking up and down.

As soon as we got inside she just wanted to walk around and check this joint out the whole time. Her pants kept creeping up her leg!

Humoring Mommy Posing for Pictures

Show me your muscles Spidey!

Trick or Treat!

This is the closest thing I could get to them cooperating at the same time!

Trick or Treat!
It was pretty dark so Hunter decided to take his mask off for the trick or treat part.

Sami decided to ditch out on her slooow mommy... snooze you lose mom!
Visiting with friends...
Hunter was so excited to see his friend Jace who came back to visit after moving out of the neighborhood a while ago. Both of our friends named Jace were dressed like the Incredible Hulk! All three super heros entertained themselves while they waited by running up and down the hill... and CRASHING down the hill several times. Luckily we didn't end up with any broken arms!

...and Sami's new friend... I don't think she's quite convinced. This cute little lady but that is clearly much smaller and younger than Sam wanted to be friends. She came running at Sami with outstretched arms and Sami went RUNNING SCARED! The cute little lady bug kept chasing her so she ran for the wall and smashed herself against it hiding her face against it.... If I can't see you you can't see me right...?!

and checking out our loot...
Of course trunk or treat night wouldn't be complete without checking out our loot as soon as we got home! Sami was ready to dig in right now! In fact, she wanted to open everything up right as it was dumped into her bucket when we were trick or treating!

This was Hunters favorite piece of candy. He called it his "mac and cheese" candy. Not really sure what that means!
Happy Halloween Week!
What a fun way to kick it off!
Let the festivities begin!
On another note... Brett got to perform his first marriage as bishop today for an older couple in our ward. It was a very cool experience! Congratulations Sheila and Charlie!

Dooooggy

video

Sami LOVES dogs. She will take off running down the street when she hears the fait "woofing" of a dog several blocks away. We were playing in the back yard today when she heard a dog barking... probaby from the other side of the neighborhood! But she was determined to find it!

In the mean time listen to Hunter in the background!

Dancin' Machines...

The other night Brett was at church meetings and I was cleaning up dinner. My little mischief makers were back in the room playing when all of the sudden I heard music coming from my room. I went back and this is what I found...

video

They had turned on Bretts alarm clock radio and were gettin' down! I ran and got my camera hoping to capture them, but only got a couple of seconds on film. Hopefully they'll end up with Bretts moves when they get older... these look like they may come from my repertoire...

Photo Tag

I got tagged, and this one was really fun! You go to your picture file and open up the 4th file and then post the 4th picture... and this is what I found...

This is Sami when she was 5 days old... my how time flies! She was tiny and very wiggly so she was always escaping out of the top of her jammies! Almost every morning I would come in to find her squirming out of her night gowns!

The really crazy thing is to look at how little Hunter was when she was born. Sami is now the same age Hunter was when she was born.

...yea... I'm pretty sure you remember things as you WANT to remember them... because I was pretty sure we had nipped the binky obsession BEFOR Sami was born... this gives me a little more hope for Sami...
I love these kids!
...but they need to slow down the growin' thing a bit!!!

Pumpkin Patch!

Okay, here is the promised post about the pumpkin patch...
As you can see below, Porter had his arm around others besides just Pres (although she doesn't look thrilled in this picture does she?!) But my love triangle story was just so much more entertaining taken SLIGHTLY out of context don't you think? The whole story was true... just told with this picture left out.

THE BUDS!
Where's Hunter?
Oh... here he is..."Mom! Here it is! It's the perfect pumpkin!"

"See it here?"
"Hey guy! Will you come help me cut my pumpkin?!"

Sami found hers too.
She wasn't thrilled with this part of the trip... she was pretty tired!

But she LOVED this part of the trip! (Even though the look on her face here doesn't illustrate that!)
She LOVED running around on the playground and going down the slide all by herself!

Hunter cluming up the HUGE slide!

...and coming down!
He was cracking Miss Tonya up! She sought me out and said, "Have you seen Hunter go down that slide? He isn't afraid of anything is he?!"
...no unfortunately he is not...
...except for tiny little shizu (sp) dogs named Izzy that is...
I think he went down this slide about a trillion-billion times...
This was the next challenge to be conquered...
VICTORY!
What pumpkin patch would be complete without a giant pumpkin jump house?

... and a "sand box" full of dried corn...
I gotta get me one of these! MUCH cleaner than dirt!
Sami made her self cozy and Trace cozied in right next to her!
I have no hope of ever getting a curly quaffed child, but if these two got married I might get a curly haired grandchild!
What a fun field trip!
WE LOVE PRESCHOOL!

Hunter is Trying to Steal Porters Girl...

We went on a field trip today with Hunters preschool to the pumpkin patch! We had a blast. I will post pictures of that later. I thought this little preschool love triange was worthy of it's own post.

Like sands through the hour glass these are the Days of our Lives...

Okay... so this is Porter and Preslie. They are in love.
They will be married one day.
They were born on the same day. Same hospital. Right down the hall from each other.
They have been inseparable ever since the hospital nursery.
Literally. When we saddled up for a good old fashioned hay ride today at the pumpkin patch, of course Porter snuggled right in next to Preslie. He put his arm around his woman and there they sat, comfortable as ever. Preslie smacking her gum and Porter casually sitting there with his arm around as he cooly checked out the situation around him.
...Hunter didn't like this...

...when we got back onto the hayride after a pitstop to pick out the "perfect pumpkin" Hunter did something about it... he made his move.
I don't think she's convinced.
Sorry bud.. I think this gals heart belongs to the Port man.
We'll find your future Mrs. Garner later.

Luckily they are all still friends!
the end

Time to Start Christmas Shopping!!!

Plus, I will be offering $5 off each item you purchase at the boutique, whether you buy it there or place a custom order that day. Besides my keepsakes there will lots of other fun stuff to shop for (as you can see above) it's a great time to get started on the Christmas shopping!

Trip to the Firestation!

Our local firestation did their annual open house today and the kids and I decided to go check it out. We are so glad we did... we had a BLAST!Hunter LOVES motorcycles... but he wouldn't go near these.. go figure.
Sami sure wasn't afraid to check them out!

The firefighters lit a tree on fire and we got to watch them put the fire out. Actually we got to the street just in time to see the end of it. The kids were still impressed!

My little jr. firefighter.

...and jr. MISS firefighter...

Where'd everybody go...? Sami's hat kept falling down over her face. It probably had something to do with the fact that she kept putting it on backwards and wouldn't let me fix it.

Hunter LOVED the helicopter. We got to watch it fly away a little while later.

HELLO.... this line is much too long!
She's a natural diva, don't you think?!
I think I need to get her a chihuaua to carry around with her...

The kids got to sit in the helicopter. We got lucky, we waited in line for 15 minutes and right when we got to the front they said they needed to leave, but they let us go in really quick.
Hunter showing off the helicopter tatoo...
What a fun time! Thanks for telling us about this Heather!!!
