Funnest Dad in the World!

This is one of the million reasons I love my husband! He loves to get down and play with the kids! He was born to be their own personal jungle gym! We had a blast last night just playing in our living room! The kids just couldn't get enough of climbing all over him and wrestling on the floor!

Keeping up with the Garners

Since we've never had a blog before and there are a lot of people that we don't keep in great contact with I thought I would just catch everyone up on what we are up to these days. Brett is a partner and the Director of Sales at a firm called Logica. The company audits the freight and shipping bills (UPS Fed Ex etc...) for other companies for errors and gets them refunds. The company is growing fast and the past year or so he has spent quite a bit of time travelling. But all that travelling is definitely paying off and we try to make sure that we do enough playing when he is home to off set the time that he is gone! He loves his job and we have become close friends with his partner and his wife. Brett is also keeping really busy working with the youth of our stake. He absoultely loves working with the youth! He tries to squeeze in some golf in his free time between work and church. He played in the Utah State Amateur and Utah State Open golf tournaments this year, we were very proud of him! He is giddy as a little kid when he is out there on the course, so it is fun to see him doing well! His favorite thing in the world, however, is playing with his kids. Hunter waits at the door for him to get home at night and as soon as he gets through the door Hunter pounces him and is begging to go down to his office to putt before he can get a word in edge wise! This definitely makes his chest puff out with pride! I am loving being a stay at home mom. There is absolutely nothing in the world that I would rather be doing right now! I am so grateful that I am able to stay home with the kids! I am working with the young women in our ward and I love it! I forget sometimes that I am 10+ years older than them! It probably doesn't help that some people would say I still look a beehive! I am also starting a little business on the side designing custom photo cards for birth announcements, wedding announcements etc... and selling them on my sister in laws website... stay tuned for more info on that! I am really excited about it! Hunter will be three in May. We are working on potty training right now... not a fun process! But hopefully we can get that done soon and only have to buy diapers for one child! We started a preschool with some girls in the ward and we each take turns teaching. He goes to that once a week, and seems to be keeping up really well, even though all the other kids are a year older than him. Sami is our little princess! She is working on getting the whole walking thing down. She is still at the point where she knows she can get around faster crawling, so she won't really give walking a fair chance, even though she could do it if she wanted to... little stinker! She absolutely loves her older brother and follows him around everywhere. It is nice because they are finally getting to the point where they can entertain each other for a while! She has learned to give kisses, but she will only give them to her daddy! She already knows how to work him! Look out! We have had a lot of people ask, so I will just say we are doing really well since the loss of our little Savannah. We still have our moments, but each day is better. We are really grateful to have the gospel in our lives so that we know that we'll get to be with her again someday. We are also very grateful to all the support from our friends and family that continues a week and a half later! You are all the best and we love you!!! My sister in law wrote about our experience on her blog and had a comment posted about it by our nurse Lisa. If you are interested her is the link... it will just show you how amazing our nurse was! If you ever delilver at McKay Dee and are lucky enough to get her as your nurse show her your utmost respect!!! https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3547479163079588773&postID=3314030522475694016

Savannah Lee Garner

We found out that we lost our little Savannah on Friday, February 8. We were about 35 weeks pregnant. Brett and I went in for our routine exam and were told that she no longer had a heart beat. We checked into McKay-Dee Hospital at 7pm and she was born at 2:05am. She was perfectly healthy, was right where she should be weight wise, and there were no indications that she has any kind of infection. The doctor also checked me, the chord and the placenta and could find no problems. The only explanation we have is that she was just too good for this cruel world. This has been a very rough experience for our family, however it has also been the most humbling and testimony building experience of our life. We have had so many people step up to show their love and support to us. We had the most amazing nurses at McKay Dee hospital that went above and beyond the call of duty to add a little sunshine to a very dark night of our life. Lisa and Jan gave us a beautiful little blessing dress, a tiny little bracelet and a snuggly pink blanket to wrap her in. They held our hands and cried with us through the rough times of the night and held our little girl when we couldn't. We will always be grateful to them for the tenderness and respect they showed our little angel as she passed from our arms back into the Lords. Bretts parents took care of Hunter and Sami for 4 days while we recouped and my mom came up today to help out for a few days. I cannot count the number of flower boquets, cards, cookies, meals phone calls etc... that we have received from all of our wonderful friends and family. We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for sending all these wonderful people into our lives! We laid our little angel to rest today and we look forward to the day that we will be reunited with that perfect little soul!
