Playing Catchup...

I've found myself on the computer less and less with each passing week, which is a nice contrast to a few months ago when my computer seemed to become an extra appendage to my body... so here's what we've been up to...

We've done a lot of resting since we seem to have had a house full of sickies since we got back from Cabo!
Went on a fun field trip to J&J nursery with Hunters preschool... Had lots of friends over to play...
Miss Sassy Pants...
Sami started a little "Mom 'n Me" dance class... it's pretty stinkin' cute!

Hunter did another session on swim classes and now he's "teaching Sami" how to swim in the tub!

We're really excited for it to start warming up for good soon. The weather in our neck of the woods has been kind of a tease the past few months!

Bring on summer and CHERRY HILL!!!

Window Safety!

Just a warning... get the kleenex handy, but PLEASE if you have young children watch this video, it has a very important safety message! My friend Michelle put this together in memory of her little man James. Window safety really was never something I thought much about, but I will now!

Easter Message

I am so grateful for Easter and the reminder is serves as that Christ has conquered all.

I, like everyone else that has ever lived on this planet have had my share of heart ache. Life never ends up exactly as we mapped out when we were 13 does it? I've seen people I love suffer the gammet of heart wrenching experiences from divorce to death to bankruptcy.

Recently a good friend of mine stood at deaths door and it has been an eye opening experience for me. In a world full of hate and greed I've seen love and compassion. People that didn't even know my friend have reached out. They've prayed. They've kept my phone ringing off the hook to see if I knew anything new. They've asked what they could do. People are good. People care. The light of Christ is still alive on this earth.

I know He loves each one of us more than we could ever fathom. He made the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we could have the opportunity to have a second chance. He triumphed over death and sin, so that none of the negative things we experience in this life will ever be permanent. Because of Him, not matter what happens here, we have the opportunity to have a happy ending.

I love Easter.

Happy Easter!

We had a fun Easter, even though it was mingled with some sickness. Sami had a cold and was coughing for several days. I thought it was clearing up so we took the kids to the ward Easter party and then to the Francis (Bretts grandparents) Easter egg Hunt/dinner. The kids had a blast!

Sami was still coughing a little bit, so I knew I couldn't bring her to nursery, but I still had to teach my class so I just brought her to my class with me. She was MISERABLE so I took her home after class. She was so fussy and started telling us her ears hurt so I took her to WeeCare and she had an ear infection and possibly strep... nice. So Brett took Hunter to Grams and Pops house for Easter dinner and this is how Sami and I spent the evening...I hate it when they are sick, I feel so bad for them.... but I take advantage of the snuggle time! We don't get much of that these days, they're too busy to snuggle with mommy!

And just because it's funny...
My kids can shake it... they didn't get that from their mom!

PLEASE PRAY FOR KIM!

This is my friend Kim and her cute little family.

Kim is a young, fun, amazing mother and friend.

Kim found out today that she has a tennis ball sized tumor in her brain.

She will go in for brain surgery tomorrow. They won't know until they get "in there" how deep it is or if it is malignant.

Kim needs your prayers!

Anyone willing is invited to participate in a fast for Kim Truman tomorrow. Please pray for her that all goes well so she can enjoy a long life with her cute little family.

PASS IT ON!

Playing Catch Up

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy, we've had beautiful weather and have been on the go. Here's a few things we've been up to...

Sami dancing with cousin Lexi

Our favorite game right now is dressups!

Last week we took a trip to the local firestation with a bunch of kids from our neighborhood. It was a blast, thanks for setting it up Heather!

First we came into the classroom and learned about fire safety and about what the firemen do.

Hunter was mesmerized by everything they had to say...

Sami....not so much.. she just wanted to run around and dance in the open space of the garage...

"This is the key to your house" says the fireman... a little creepy, but okay...

Hunter giving the fireman a high five...

is it me or is the guy in the background ripping one?! nice...Sami wasn't going to come anywhere near him!

They turned the engine sirens for us... boy were they loud!

... Sami thought it was loud too...

Driving the firetruck

Hunter has Sami in a hold...er hug.
The whole gang with the firemen

Last Friday we got invited for the first weenie roast of the year at our friends the Hansens parents house. It was fun as usual! Hooray for springtime!!!

"I'm a good marshmallow cooker"

Smoke follows beauty right?!

it's hard to tell since the picture is so dark, but this is a candid picture I caught of Sami swinging with Daddy...

....and jumping on the trampoline with daddy. It's fun to have some daddy daughter time! Sami was getting restless while we sat around the campfire so she and daddy snuck off to play!

Hunter disappeared for a minute so I went looking for him and found him like this...

He had put the helmet on and climbed up on the 4 wheeler himself. He literally sat there for 30 minutes pretending to ride it... sound effects and all!

We couldn't get him to take the helmet off...

Sami had her first "Mom 'n Me" dance class today over at the local rec center. She had a blast until it was time for the "Monster Boogy"... all those little monsters running around growling scared the poop out of her... it was all down hill from there!

That's all folks...

Attention all my digital scrap booking buddies...

When our baby, Savannah, was born an incredible organization called "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" came and took pictures of her for us. I know this seems a little odd, and even seemed incredibly morbid to me at the time, however, since them I have been so grateful to have SOMETHING to remind me of my sweet little girl... even if they are not something that we show many people.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is a non profit organization and hundreds of talented, professional photographers donate their time and talents... and sleep when the call comes at 2 am like it did with my baby... to give this priceless gift to families facing a very difficult loss.

The girls at Scrap Matters have designed this adorable digital scrapbook kit in honor of my friend Amy's baby (who was stillborn in January of this year). The kit is $10 and all the proceeds will be donated to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Click here for more details and to order this cute kit!!!
